My son and I like to pack in a few episodes of an anime series once or twice month…and the latest one we watched was Angel Beats. It is an action comedy at first glance…but touches on a few sad issues here and there. I truly thought it was going to be just another fun goofy anime but in the end, I was crying. I didn’t see that coming.

Without spoiling too much, the setting is a school campus in what appears to be the after life. Students are there trying to keep from passing on because they don’t want to come back from the afterlife as some animal or bug…. so they are constantly being rebellious students and running from a special girl that apparently can make you pass on.
