Color Tools

I recently started a few interactions with someone new. While I have been following her blog and Flickr for a while, I never posted or commented. Yes, I tend to be an introvert! Every now and then I will post here and there. I decided to post on Ener Hax’s Blog, which in turn got a response and that caused her to want to see who I was. So she did the normal research of looking at my blog and flickr and then she posted a few comments. One of the natural chain of events which forms online friendships.

On one of my Flickr pics, she commented on my color choices for the restaurant I built on WIT3 on JokaydiaGRID.

The she mentioned a site called Kuler for color matching. What a great idea. Instead of standing there trying different color combos and possibly getting them wrong, just pick your base color and press a button! Below is the suggestions that Kuler gave me. As you can see…I almost hit it dead on. Their red is browner than I used but I was close. I won’t change it because I like the more red color, but it is still a great site to use for getting more colors that compliment each other for your builds.

Thanks for the new tool Ener! I’m sure we will can continue to inspire and steal ideas from each other!

anyway, yah, kuler is kewl. there are true mathematic correlations within the colours – since they are part of the electromagnetic spectrum. and actually (geeklette alert) your restaurant colours (do you serve poutine?) are every colour except the green. green is the colour reflected while all the other colours are absorbed, anyway, i babble . . .

how did i know you posted this? since you mentioned research, i use google alerts of course. it’s a great way to keep up with any OpenSim development too (or to be conceited and see who talks about you)

i am also OCD about SEO and all that baloney, so i link as much as i can together

oh and so that my comment is not all about me – you seem to be a rather beautiful soul =)

    now about that poutine . . .
